A charming and unusual botanical album quilt made in New York or Maryland around 1860 supplied the inspiration for this sweet vase. Friends appliqued squares depicting geraniums, fuchsias, bleeding hearts, sunflowers, other fanciful flowers, and birds. They then pieced their squares together to make the quilt as a gift, possibly for a bride. A beautiful nod to this special piece of history, this vase marries a piece of the past with an updated and clever application.
