As a child, Edouard Efanov possessed a subtle sense of beauty and a love for the land that surrounded his villiage of Krenoyoye in Southwest Russia. The city was almost completely destroyed during WWII, so he withdrew from the industrialized ruin of the city to the countryside. It was the splendor and purity of the countryside that inspired Efonov's charminly understated watercolor paintings. Giclée reproduction.
