An Update on Jim’s AIDS/LifeCycle Ride

Back in January we announced that our co-founder, Jim Hering, would be embarking on a journey unlike any he has been on before. His goal is ambitious: to ride for AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and raise $12,000 to provide life-saving treatment and services for individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS.

Now the AIDS/LifeCycle ride, spanning the week of June 5-11, 2016, is almost here! So today, we’re sharing updates from Jim about his training and fundraising progress as he gets ready to ride.

Jim says, “I am approaching my fundraising goal of $12,000. Currently, I have raised approximately $10,400 and I just need a good final push to reach my target. These funds help the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center provide access to life-saving treatments to those who need them most. The best part is that the funds raised are put to immediate use. People seeking treatment are being helped immediately with every donation. If you’re interested in helping me meet my goal of $12,000 raised, you can get more information and donate here.

“I have been training several times per week in preparation for my journey. Typically, I do one or two 50-mile rides on weekends and one or more 25+ mile rides during the week. Any time ‘in the saddle’ I can get helps tremendously. I recently completed a ride from Irvine to San Diego, California. We rode more than 100 miles in the course of that training day!”

We are so proud of you, Jim, and can’t wait to share a recap of your ride when you’ve finished!
