How to Use Pantone's Colors of 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity, in Your Home

The new year is upon us and with it comes Pantone’s new Color of the Year recommendation. For 2016, they chose two colors; Rose Quartz and Serenity. These two colors on their own are vibrant yet soft and are easily employed in almost any interior design scheme. But together? We recognize this dynamic duo for the design powerhouse that it is! With some help from our talented staff, you can make these colors work for you in a way that is timeless and chic yet still on trend.

Co-founder of HW Home, Jim H., offers seasoned advice on incorporating new and vibrant colors into your decor: “While the palette might not appeal to you, the colors are calming and especially significant when used together.”

HW Home now offers a gorgeous new collection of throw pillows showcasing these two colors. Arranging them on a sofa will show everyone who enters your home that you are definitely on trend. You could also experiment by adding a new bedding collection to a guest room. But remember, a little bit goes a long way!

While many only see these colors as suitable for a nursery, HW Home Director of Visual Merchandise John W. sees the depth and interest these colors could provide to a home. His advice? “These soft pastels work best when you use one as a focal and the other as a complement.”

He personally recommends a few chic and sophisticated items from HW Home such as the Estello Sky Blue Tumbler and a pillow or two like this Bargello Seaweed or Palmette. These items would be a powerful complement to the decor of any room.

Landmark store manager Lauren C. recommends adding Serenity and Rose Quartz to living rooms—both formal and informal—for a fun, unexpected "pop" of color.
